Sandy Hook Promise "Say Something" Training

Dear Valued Parents/Caregivers:

You recently received correspondence from Atlanta Public Schools (APS) regarding the implementation of the Sandy Hook Promise Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (www.sandyhookpromise.org). Bringing this initiative to APS is part of our continuing effort to make our schools safe places for students to learn.

I’m writing to update you on the timeline for the student training at Maynard H. Jackson High School. Our students will be trained during the week of January 7-11, 2019, and, as shared previously, the training will include showing students a short video about recognizing warning signs, acting immediately, and saying something to a trusted adult. We will also show students how to access the Say Something Anonymous mobile app, the website, and the 24/7 crisis call center line in order to submit a tip.

If you have any questions about the initiative or the student training, don’t hesitate to contact me. We appreciate your partnership in helping make Maynard H. Jackson High School safe.

Sincerely,

Adam J. Danser, Principal
