2024 Summer Commencement

    GWCC RED AND GREEN LOT PARKING 
    There is a parking fee.
     
     
    Cap and Gown
    All seniors should contact their home school for cap and gown information. Seniors must have cleared all financial obligations, passed all academic requirements, and completed community service (as appropriate) to receive their cap and gown.
     
    Commencement Rehearsal - July 25, 2024 
    8:45 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

    Rehearsal will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All seniors who plan to participate in Summer Commencement must attend the mandatory rehearsal. Plan to stay during the allotted time. Students should report to the Georgia World Congress Center (Sidney Marcus Auditorium) no later than 8:45 a.m. and park in the Red Lot; please show the parking pass sent in your previous commencement email. Note that free parking is only available for the commencement rehearsal.

     
    Commencement Ceremony

    Each graduate will receive 10 tickets, which will be distributed at the rehearsal. Tickets are required for entry into the ceremony. All graduates will report to the Georgia World Congress Center ROOM A 302 at 4:00 p.m. and immediately go to their assigned seats so attendance can be taken. Any graduate who is not in place by 5:30 p.m. will not be allowed to participate in the Commencement Exercises. Onsite parking will be available in the Georgia World Congress Center Red and Green Lots for the commencement ceremony. Note that there is a fee for parking. Dress Code

  • YOUNG LADIES

    • White or black dresses must be worn under your gowns.
    • Unless otherwise specified by your school, you may only wear white closed-toe shoes.
    • Dresses should not be above the knees or longer than your gowns.
    • Bring hairpins if you have trouble with your graduation cap staying on.
    • Leave purses and other items with your families, as they will not be permitted during the ceremony. You will not be able to carry them with you.

    YOUNG MEN

    • You must wear a white shirt, black tie, black pants, and black shoes with solid black socks.
    • Athletics shoes are strongly discouraged.
    • No sunglasses will be permitted.

    REMINDER

    All participating seniors must adhere to the Commencement dress code. Commencement activities are memorable occasions that should be honored with the most appropriate attire. Any article of attire that tends to draw unfavorable attention or threatens health or safety is considered inappropriate. Failure to adhere to the dress code will result in the denial of participation in all Summer Commencement activities.
