• APS Graduation Requirements

The Atlanta Board of Education shall offer programs of study that permit students to earn unit credit in grades 9 through 12. Curriculum will be offered for the required college preparatory with distinction, college preparatory, technology/career preparation, and technology/career preparation with distinction programs of study. To participate in any graduation exercises or ceremonies, Atlanta Public Schools seniors must meet the requirements of at least one or more of the following programs/courses of study and pass all of the "Exit Exams" required by the Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Board of Education. Students enrolled in Programs for Exceptional Children (PEC) whose Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) indicate that they are unable to meet these requirements will be exempt from the terms outlined in the preceding statement.

Only units earned after a student enters ninth grade will satisfy unit requirements towards graduation.
