Karina Canup is excited to join the VHE family!  Ms. Canup has worked at Springdale Park ES since the 2019.2020 school year!  

Ms. Canup has worked as a 4th grade teacher, grade level chair and she has served on the SPARK GO Team. She can't wait to share her passion and drive with the students, families and community here at Virginia-Highland Elementary.   

Ms. Canup attended Kennesaw State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education along with her reading endorsement. While at KSU, she was chapter president of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education and served as curriculum director and lead teacher for a summer reading intensive for students 2nd-6th grade. Following a passion for learning, she is currently pursuing a master's degree from there as well, which will include both a gifted and English as a second language endorsement.

Ms. Canup loves trying new things, especially foods! She enjoys perusing farmer's markets and local restaurants to find new flavors. In her free time, you can usually find her watching a nature documentary or going to an Atlanta United soccer game!
