Mrs. Valerie English

Valerie English has served as an elementary educator for a number of years. She began her educational career at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. There she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Later, Mrs. English received her Masters of Science degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Upon receiving her degree, Mrs. English worked for Broward County Schools for 10 years, teaching grade levels 2 and 4. After returning to her home state of Georgia, Mrs. English obtained employment with Henry County Schools. She worked as a teacher for 6 years in Henry County. Her teaching experience with Henry County includes teaching grades; 1st, 3rd, and 5th. Mrs. English’s school experiences include serving as the grade level chair, and co-president and secretary of the School Advisory Committee. Valerie English also has endorsements in English Speakers of Other Languages and Science.

As a life -long learner, she is very passionate about student achievement and is constantly seeking opportunities to raise the achievement levels of all students.

Mrs. English has been married to her best friend for 23 years and has three beautiful daughters.  Some of her hobbies include spending time with her family and close friends. Additionally, she enjoys reading, traveling, and volunteering her time to support various organizations such Relay for Life and the Sickle Cell Foundation.

Valerie English was a teacher at SPARK for twelve years and she is excited to join the Virginia-Highland Elementary School family!
