Jamie Bookspun is thrilled to be joining the VHE 1st grade team!  Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, she went to the University of Georgia where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2005. In 2011, she earned a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College.

This is Jamie’s 15th year of teaching and 13th with Atlanta Public Schools, where she worked at Springdale Park.  Jamie had an opportunity to move to New York City for 4 years, which had always been one of her dreams, but she decided Atlanta was where her heart was, so she came back to APS and Springdale Park and now Virginia-Highland Elementary.

When not at school, Jamie can be found spending time with her dog Shelby and family, reading, baking, and doing crossword puzzles. She also loves to work out and ride her bike on the BeltLine.
