Mrs. Amanda Edens
Amanda Edens was born and raised in Atlanta where she attended Atlanta Public Schools, including Inman. She is thrilled to be teaching in the building where she went to middle school. Amanda ventured to Worcester, Massachusetts for college, earning a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Clark University. After four brutally cold winters, Amanda decided to come back to sunny Atlanta where she attended Georgia State University and earned a Masters in Education.
This will be Amanda’s thirteenth year teaching. She began her career in APS teaching at Toomer Elementary and then moved to Dekalb County where she taught at Bouie Elementary. She is so excited to be back in APS and to be joining the Virginia Highland Elementary family. She has taught 2nd – 5th grade but has spent most of her years teaching 3rd grade.
Amanda lives in Kirkwood with her husband Chris, their two sons, Ben and Oliver, and their dog Lulu. Amanda loves to run and enjoys trying new restaurants. She currently spends lots of time at the park searching for bugs and sticks with her 3 year old. She is so excited to meet you and is really looking forward to a great year!
