Georgia Law 20-2-738 and Atlanta Board of Education Policy JDDA provide for enhancement of the student-learning environment by improving student behavior and discipline. The teacher has the ultimate responsibility for the management of the classroom. Accordingly, a teacher shall have the authority to remove from his or her class a student who repeatedly or substantially interferes with the teacher’s ability to communicate effectively with students in the class or with the ability of the student’s classmates to learn.
The Atlanta Board of Education defines “repeatedly or substantially” as a minimum of three (3) incidents.
