The purpose of assessment is to drive instruction.

    ➢ Teachers are expected to routinely assess students (formally and informally) and use this data to plan and implement differentiated classroom instruction. Data will be routinely entered into grade level and teacher level spreadsheets for the purposes of monitoring school and student progress towards goals and consequently informing instructional decisions.

    ➢ Each teacher will participate in Data Team discussions where data will be disaggregated

    and instructional decisions made based on student learning.

    ➢ Classroom teachers will use formative and summative assessments throughout the school

    year to monitor student progress and communicate this information to parents.

    ➢ Assessment data will help to inform class placement each year.
