Putting Students First
Hollis students are preparing to shine on stage for the first time since the Covid-19 Pandemic, in a student-run musical production of "The 3 Little Pigs".
Students in 4th through 8th grade are responsible for all aspects of the show: set creation, lights, and music!
This isn't your ordinary tale of "The 3 Little Pigs"! The personalities of Cool Pig, Diva Pig, and Nerdy Pig, along with others unheard of, will have the audience laughing—and perhaps even crying—while resisting the temptation to sing along to the catchy songs.
“I love acting, so I’m most excited to see everybody’s reaction when we get on stage. I just want to see the reactions when we get to the funny parts or the sad parts," says Destyni (6th grade), who plays the role of Nerdy Pig.
The production includes an original score, written by Hollis Music & Drama Teacher, Jason Heath. Since January, students have become well-versed in the technique of improvisation, resulting in several comedic moments throughout the production.
Tickets may be purchased in advance of the May 19 show by contacting Nadine O'Connor-Smith at noconnor@atlanta.k12.ga.us.
