Facilities Improvement Request (FIR)
The previously known Capital Improvement Request process has changed to the Facilities Improvement Request (FIR). The request form and related documents describing the processes, procedures, and guidelines have also been updated.
As a reminder, the FIR should be submitted for school-requested renovation, modification, major repair, replacement, new installations, and furniture purchases over $5,000 and involving 2 or more spaces. This includes, but is not limited to, permanent wall reconfiguration or placement, minor construction, permanent building enhancement, total building system replacement (painting, flooring, plumbing and mechanical systems). All requests will be reviewed and prioritized by The Offices of Facilities, Capital Improvement and Construction Management. The request form, as well as additional information describing the requirements of the request, are delineated in the links below.
As part of this new process, and following all departmental approvals, all Facility Improvement Requests (FIR) should now be emailed to: FIR@atlanta.k12.ga.us
Additionally, any repair requests/items should be submitted through the FMX Work Order System.
