Hollis "Technovation Girls" Visit Chick-fil-A Home Office

Hollis Technovation Girls at Chick-fil-A Home Office A group of seven girls, known as the Technovation Girls, had the honor of visiting the Chick-fil-A® Home Office in South Fulton County on Friday, May 4. The girls, ranging from 3rd through 6th grade, meet once a week after school, and work diligently at coding and programming.

For this endeavor, the students identified needs within their community, designed apps to address those needs, and presented them to Information Technology (IT) and Marketing professionals at Chick-fil-A®, on what was befittingly EL Education Better World Day.

Students confidently presented the following apps, and answered questions at the end of each presentation:

  • Westside Wakanda/Support Black Businesses - Tatyana B.
  • Westside Beautification - Destiny W.
  • Hollis Helps the Homeless - Shadanza H., Shadazja H., Antwanique H., Quinnyanna L., Takesia W.

Following the presentations, the girls enjoyed a tour of the Chick-fil-A® Home Office (including a visit to the late Founder Truett Cathy's office) and lunch in the dining hall.

Technovation is a national competition that "invites teams of girls from all over the world to learn and apply the skills needed to solve real-world problems through technology." (https://technovationchallenge.org/). Hollis plans to officially enter the competition in the future.
