    Tonetta Green, Principal
     
    ghjkMs. Tonetta Green brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to academic excellence and student success to Herman J. Russell West End Academy. With a proven track record in educational leadership, Principal Green has been instrumental in driving transformative changes and fostering a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.

    Before joining HJRWEA, Principal Green served in various leadership roles, including Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach, where she demonstrated exceptional skills in curriculum development, teacher support, and student engagement. Principal Green is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that meets the needs of all students, including those in special education.

    In addition to her professional accomplishments, Principal Green is passionate about fostering a collaborative school environment where educators, students, and families work together to achieve common goals. 

    Principal Green holds a master's degree in educational administration and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership. She is currently working towards completing her doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. She continuously seeks opportunities for professional growth and learning and has recently been trained and certified at Harvard as a School Turnaround Leader. Outside of her work, Principal Green enjoys traveling with family, attending outside concerts, and organizing improvement projects, further enriching her connection to the community she serves.

    Marc Venzen, Business Manager

    dfghjDr. Marc Venzen has 28 years of experience in education and educational leadership. Before taking on the role of Business Manager, Dr. Venzen held several leadership positions, including Behavior Specialist, Department Chair, New Teacher and New Leader coach, and Assistant Principal. Despite this diverse range of experiences, Dr. Venzen's passion for teaching and learning remains at the core of who he is. With 16 years of classroom teaching experience in Metro Atlanta Schools and the New York City Public School system, Dr. Venzen has a strong educational background that includes a B.A. in History (Education) for grades K-12 from the State University of New York Albany, a Master of Educational Leadership from Molloy College, and a Doctor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Capella University. Through his dedication to lifelong learning, Dr. Venzen aims to set an example for students and teachers, emphasizing that learning is a continuous journey.

    Dr. Venzen's goal is to maintain a nurturing environment at HJRWEA that fosters learning and enabling every student and teacher to reach their full potential. He is excited about engaging with all members of the school community and community partners this year.
