...Message From The Principal...Dr. Diamond M. Jack
I am a native of Atlanta Georgia and a proud alumni of the Atlanta Public School system. I began my education at Clark Atlanta University where I received a Bachelor’s in Middle Grades Mathematics and Science. I received my Masters in Educational Leadership from University of West Georgia. I have an Education Specialist in Teaching and Learning. Lastly, I hold a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Mercer University.
I have 15 years of experience in urban education. Six of those years were spent as a middle school science teacher. Following my teaching experience, I served as a district level instructional coach for elementary and middle school mathematics and science for four years. In this role I provided professional development to teachers, school level instructional coaches and principals in School Improvement Planning, mathematics and science instruction, and differentiation. Currently, I am the founding principal of a PK-8 EL Education/STEM school.
My first love is teaching! I have experience of being an adjunct professor for a Ph.D. level course focusing on curriculum and instructional leadership. I have also done seminars and presentations on Instructional Technology Leadership and STEM integration.
My research interest include teacher-self efficacy, teacher leadership, urban education and adult learning theory. I am a collaborative educator with a desire to professionally develop instructional leaders. I enjoy strategic planning and seeing those plans in action to improve student performance.
