Hollis Innovation Academy

Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,

 

It is with great enthusiasm and gratitude that I introduce myself as the Interim Principal of Michael R. Hollis Innovation Academy for the 2024-2025 school year. With over forty years of experience in education, my journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to fostering student success, nurturing a positive school culture, and supporting the growth and development of both students and educators alike.

 

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of wearing many hats—starting as a special education teacher, later transitioning to a behavior specialist, and eventually serving as an assistant principal. These roles have provided me with a unique perspective on the diverse needs of students and the importance of individualized support. I have seen firsthand how providing a nurturing environment, combined with clear expectations and a focus on social-emotional learning, can transform a student's educational experience.

 

At Hollis, we are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where all students can thrive. Whether in the classroom or beyond, we aim to develop students’ academic skills, emotional intelligence, and character, preparing them for success in both school and life. My leadership philosophy is rooted in collaboration, open communication, and a shared commitment to excellence. I believe that by working together with our talented staff, dedicated parents, and engaged community, we can provide the best possible educational experience for every student.

 

I am excited to continue the tradition of excellence at Hollis and look forward to building strong relationships with each of you as we embark on this journey together.
