     WELCOME BACK!!

    Dear Parents:

My name is Mrs. Carla Kendall and I have the honor of being your child’s Gifted and Talented Education teacher. First, I would like to share some information about myself. I am a Georgia native and a product of the Atlanta Public Schools. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Brenau University and a Masters of Science degree in Urban Teacher Leadership from Georgia State University. I am currently attending Piedmont College seeking an Education Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning. I love to teach, especially science. It is truly my calling.  I have been with Atlanta Public Schools for 18 years.

My daughter is starting her sophomore year at Georgia State University and my husband is retired from the Air Force.

Teamwork is very important to me. I truly believe in the African Proverb, “It Takes a Village.”  It is important that we (you and I) work together to educate your child. I am here for your child. As a parent, I share your passion for making sure your child gets the best.

It is indeed a privilege to have your child as a student. We have many exciting things to explore that will develop and enhance your child’s academic skills. Your childwill face many fun andexciting challengesduring the school year. The Gifted activities arerigorous and my expectations are high. Please DO NOT hesitate to email me regarding questions or concerns.
