    Dear 8th Grade Parents & Guardians,

    As we enter the second half of the 2024-2025 school year, we are thrilled to begin planning memorable end-of-year activities for our eighth-grade scholars. These events are designed to honor their achievements as they prepare to transition to high school.

    Important Dates and Events

    (All dates are tentative and subject to change)

    • Georgia Milestone Testing: April 28–May 14, 2025
    • 8th Grade Spring Dance: May 16, 2025 (School Gym)
    • 8th Grade Breakfast: May 20, 2025 (School Cafeteria)
    • Awards Ceremony: May 21, 2025 (School Gym)
    • Athletics Ceremony: May 21, 2025 5:30 PM (Auditorium)
    • Main Event Field Trip: May 23, 2025
    • Cookout & Field Day: May 27, 2025 (School Field)
    • J.L.I.A. School Olympics: May 28, 2025 (School Field) (Culmination of Field Day)
    • Counselors’ End-of-Year Celebration: May 29, 2025 (School Gym)

     

    Please note that the Awards Ceremony will be invite-only for scholars receiving academic recognition. The athletics ceremony is for scholar athletes who complete the full season of the sport in which they participated. 

    Event Packages and Costs

    To provide flexibility, we offer several package options:

    • Base Dues ($75): Includes class shirt, field day shirt, cookout/field day food, awards ceremony, 8th Grade Breakfast, signature book, and student keepsake.
    • Package A ($100): Base Dues + 8th Grade Dance
    • Package B ($130): Base Dues + 8th Grade Dance + Field Trip

     

    Note: The school yearbook is not included in the dues but is highly encouraged for purchase.

    Payment Information:

    • Payments can be made online via the school website. 
    • A non-refundable $50 deposit is due by February 14, 2025, with final payments due no later than April 11, 2025.

    Behavior and Academic Expectations:

    To participate in the events, scholars must meet the following criteria:

    1. No more than 2 out-of-school suspensions (OSS) or 3 in-school suspensions (ISS) starting February 3rd, 2025.
    2. Maintain satisfactory academic performance and behavior.
    3. Follow all school rules as outlined in the Code of Conduct.

     

    Scholars who fail to meet these expectations will not be eligible to participate and will forfeit fees paid. 

    Additional Information:

    A detailed calendar of events, permission slips, and final updates will be distributed closer to the event dates. Please encourage your child to stay focused and committed to academic excellence as we approach these exciting milestones.
