• Dr. Franklin

     

    Dr. Tiffany Franklin is originally from Prescott, Arkansas. She attended Georgia State University where she was a member of the National Council of Negro Women and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Dr. Franklin earned a BA in Psychology in 2001 and her Masters of Public Administration in 2003.

    After a few years of working in university administration, Dr. Franklin began working on her middle grades teaching certificate at the University of West Georgia. She began her career in education at Yeager Middle School in Douglasville, GA and would later transfer to Sylvan Hills Middle School within the Atlanta Public School System. As a classroom teacher, she has taught 6th and 7th grades Reading, Math, and Social Studies. In 2008 she received her Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University and in 2012 she received her Doctorate degree in Teaching and Learning from Argosy University. Dr. Franklin has also received additional certifications in educational leadership, gifted, reading, and teacher leadership.

    After a successful tenure in the classroom, Dr. Franklin moved into school leadership. 

    Before being appointed the Assistant Principal of Beecher Hills, she served as an Instructional Coach, K-8 Core Content Specialist, and Remediation and Academic Support Coordinator for the Atlanta Public School System. Dr. Franklin wholeheartedly believes that it only takes one person to make a difference in the life of a child and seeks to be that one person for the children she has taught throughout her career. She believes in the whole child approach and works hard to ensure that students are healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged.     In her spare time Dr. Franklin enjoys traveling, going to the movies, reading, and spending time with family and friends. It is Dr. Franklin’s goal to work in collaboration with teachers, students, parents and the community to make sure that the legacy of Beecher Hills Elementary as a school that fosters the entire student and develops knowledgeable, caring students and teachers who love learning continues.
