Mission
Beecher Hills Elementary School aspires to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring learners who appreciate others' differences, value multiple perspectives, and communicate in multiple languages.
To achieve this, the school will work collaboratively with students, parents and the community to provide a safe and supportive learning environment which meets the needs of all its learners by implementing a rigorous, inquiry-driven, international curriculum which encourages students to become active, balanced, and lifelong learners.
Vision
All Beecher students will be knowledgeable inquirers who are compassionate citizens and accountable for their achievement. By the year 2012 Beecher Hills will exceed the minimum requirements of the college and career readiness index for elementary schools.
Goals
1. 100% of grade level teams will use at least 1 collaborative planning day per week to review data, common assessments, lesson plans, and student work.
2. 30% of Beecher parents will participate in each of 4 parent education workshops focused on improving student achievement and 3 conferences related to individual student learning goals by May 2013 to increase the number of students meeting and exceeding standards in Math, Social Studies and Science.
3. 80% of teachers will be proficient in TKES 3-Instructional Strategies, 4- Differentiated Instruction, 6- Assessment Uses, and 8- Academically Challenging Environment as measured by TKES and critical friends reflections by March 2013 to ensure instruction will increase the number of students meeting and exceeding standards in Math, Social Studies and Science.
4 Decrease total office referrals for physical aggression by 50% by May 2012 and decrease the number of repeat offenders by 50% by May 2012.
