Kimberly Scott Johnson, ELA Instructional Coach at Emma Hutchinson Elementary School, is a 22-year veteran. She began her career in education after realizing that the corporate finance world was not a good fit. Mrs. Johnson has taught Pre-K through 5th grade in public and private schools. In 2005, she began teaching gifted students and specialized in gardening, birding, and robotics. She received a Master Gardener certification through the University of Georgia Extension Program in 2015. In 2017, she became a Master Birder through the Atlanta Audubon Society. As a First Lego League robotics coach, she has led her teams to 1st place trophies in the areas of Core Values, Robot Design, and teamwork and was awarded the 2016 National Championship Award for the state of Georgia. Mrs. Johnson enjoys sharing her love of reading by teaching students, teachers, and parents the importance of reading and communication skills. She serves as the school's Reading Bowl Coach and her team has placed in the top 10 in the district three times.
