Melvin Hill

Crossing Guard Supervisor

Lieutenant Melvin Hill is an experienced law enforcement officer with more than 30 years as a public servant. Georgia State Police Department, MARTA Police, and Fulton County Schools. Lieutenant Hill has held various positions with the Atlanta Public Schools Police Department during his 15-year tenure and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2016. He manages the Crossing Guard Program, First Aid CPR/AED Program, Traffic Details, and the School Metal Detector Program. He is a member of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police and holds numerous Peace Officer Standards and Training certificates.

Walter Warner

Dispatch Manager

Walter has been with APSPD since 2017.  I started out part-time as a Dispatcher and became the full-time Dispatch Manager in January of 2019.  I have 18 (+) years of experience in public safety communications and I’ve served in a management role for almost 15 years. I am a graduate of Morehouse College (Class of 1991), and a  member of the Georgia Terminal Agency Coordinators Association (TAC).  In my spare time, I enjoy traveling.
