Sessions offered during Curriculum Night
Below you will find the four (4) sessions that are being offered at Slater.
Pre-Kindergarten - 5th grade Classrooms: Guests will have the opportunity to spend 30 minutes exploring the English/Language Arts and Math goals for their student’s grade level. During this session, participants will engage in a hands-on “Make and Take” activity designed to reinforce the skills students are currently learning and practicing in the classroom.
Slater Academic Overview: During this session, guests will hear from Principal Jovan Miles and the academic team as they discuss Slater’s 2024-2025 School Improvement Goals and the strategies in place to achieve them. There will also be an opportunity for guests to ask questions and learn how they can support these goals.
5th Grade Transition: This session is designed specifically for families of current 5th-grade students. Guests will hear from Dr. Mayhan, Principal of Price Middle School, and her team as they share information about the programs and opportunities available at Price. They will also discuss ways families can get involved to ensure a smooth and successful transition from elementary to middle school.
Student Support Team Process: This session will offer an overview of the Student Support Team (SST) process, outlining the steps involved and how Slater’s team collaborates with families who have questions or are currently navigating the process. Additionally, guests will learn about our literacy and math labs and the valuable support they provide to students. This session will be led by our MTSS and Special Education leaders.
