Mandatory Staff Testing
Atlanta Public Schools has always put and continues to put the health and safety of all our students and staff first by implementing comprehensive and robust mitigation strategies in alignment with CDC and Georgia Department of Health recommendations. One way to help ensure a safe environment is through mandatory weekly surveillance testing for staff.
Surveillance testing allows schools to test, receive test results (within 24 hours) and notify individuals of clinically significant results. Additionally, weekly testing allows schools to determine if surveillance positivity rates are low enough to safely continue an in-person learning model. This allows schools that have low levels of positivity or case activity to continue the in-person learning experience, even if community data rises or surges.
