Mandatory Staff Testing
Throughout our unprecedented journey together during the COVID-19 pandemic, Atlanta Public Schools has always put and continues to put the health and safety of all our students and staff first. Through our comprehensive health and safety protocols under our APS Protects umbrella we are doing all we can to ensure your well-being and that of our young scholars. In light of this and our commitment to health and safety, twice-weekly COVID-19 surveillance testing is mandatory for all staff.
Surveillance testing allows schools to test, receive test results (within 24 hours) and notify individuals of clinically significant results. Additionally, twice-weekly testing allows schools to determine if surveillance positivity rates are low enough to safely continue an in-person learning model. This allows schools that have low levels of positivity or case activity to continue the in-person learning experience, even if community data rises or surges.
