Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Alexa Smith

Greetings! My name is Alexa Smith and I serve as your Instructional Coach. I am a native of Atlanta, GA and a proud graduate of Atlanta Public Schools. I attended college at Georgia State University, majoring in Early Childhood Education, and I have a Master’s degree from the University of West Georgia, where I majored in Reading Specialization. I am a 15-year veteran educator.  I recently celebrated my 15th wedding anniversary and my husband and I have two wonderful children, ages twelve and nine.

My primary roles at Humphries will be to coach teachers, train support staff members, share best practices for instruction, and analyze data to improve student academic outcomes. I will also support students and engage families in celebrating various teaching and learning experiences that will occur in our school and our classrooms. I am committed to ensuring that our students, our staff, and our families work together to educate the whole-child so that they grow, attend college, start a career, and enjoy choice-filled lives.

There is an old adage that says, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am glad to be a key member of the Humphries village. I believe that by working together we can continue to raise our children in a positive, supportive, and academically-challenging learning environment. I look forward to working with you in the new school year! Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I am here to serve and support you.

I can be reached via email at aljsmith@apsk12.org.
