Sherri Johnson, Assistant Principal, obtained her undergraduate and graduate degree from Old Dominion University where she received a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies-Teacher Prep and M.S. in Education in her home state of Virginia. She also attended Lincoln Memorial University where she earned an Educational Specialist degree in Administration & Supervision. Her teaching career began in Virginia at an elementary school. After a few years, she moved to Georgia and taught elementary school in Fayette County before transitioning to APS, where she served in a variety of roles that included Teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal. She left the district a few years ago when she had the opportunity to serve as Alternative Education Administrator & Regional Program Administrator over alternative schools in several counties in Georgia. Last year she returned to APS as an Assistant Principal to serve the students and community of Forrest Hill. She believes building relationships and showing empathy are critical tools that each staff member should possess in order to assist the students at Forrest Hill Academy with the opportunity to “Learn, Grow & Evolve”. Mrs. Johnson has pledged to be a “champion” for all students at Forrest Hill Academy and APS and challenges all stakeholders to become “champions”.
