I am Tonya M. Phipps, Special Education Lead Teacher at The Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron New Beginnings Academy and am excited about being a part of this dynamic team. I come to you with twenty-seven years of experience in special education and administration. I am a graduate of Albany State University with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice and University of West Georgia with both a M.P.A. (Public Administration) and M.Ed (Special Education) and leadership. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As a person in the field of education, students come to us with many issues and obstacles that can affect them overall, therefore I believe that it is important that we not only meet the educational needs of students but also the physical, social and emotional needs as well.
