Ms. Maxine Coleman
Hello! My name is Maxine Coleman. This school year begins my 33rd year in the field of education with Atlanta Public Schools. I attended and obtained my undergraduate degree from the historical Clark College, now known as Clark Atlanta University. I continued my graduate matriculation at Troy State University and Georgia State University, where I received my Master’s and Leadership Certificate respectively. Throughout my educational career I have had the pleasure of being a classroom teacher in grades K-3, a Reading Recovery Teacher, and a Reading Model Teacher Leader. For the last five years I have enjoyed my tenure as the EIP teacher here at Benteen. The purpose of the Early Intervention Program is to provide additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level proficiencies. I believe that all students can learn when provided opportunities which include extra practice, modeling, hands on activities and resources to engage students. I look forward to supporting our students here at Benteen as they shine in their brilliance this year!
