Mrs. Nartasha Smith-Willis

Mrs. Nartasha Smith-Wilis is a proud native Atlantan.  She attended schools within the Atlanta Public School's District and is a graduate of Frederick Douglass High School.  She knew at an early age that she desired to be an educator.  To create her dream, she attended Georgia State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.  Upon graduating, she was offered a position with the Atlanta Public School's District.  While working with the Atlanta Public Schools, Nartasha decided to further her education by obtaining her Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University and her Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.  Recently, she received her Media Specialist certificate from the University of West Georgia. During her now 22 and 1/2 years tenure with the Atlanta Public School's District, she has taught grades K, 2, and 3 and worked at W.F Slaton Elementary and Parkside Elementary as a classroom teacher.   She was the Teacher of the Year at Parkside Elementary during the 2014-2015 school year.  Currently, she works in the role as the media specialist of William Finch Elementary School.  She is excited to have been given such an awesome opportunity!

Ms. Nartasha Smith-Willis will use 21st century best practices within the library and pedological knowledge of how students learn to foster lifelong readers and learners.  Her belief is that all students with the proper tools and encouragement can achieve in every area.
