Katy Allen is excited to be on the SPARK team. She received her B.A. in Communications from UGA and her M.Ed. from the UACM program at Georgia State University. She both ESOL and Gifted Endorsed. Prior to teaching she worked in special events at Walt Disney World and the High Museum of Art.

Mrs. Allen began teaching in 2010 at Garden Hills Elementary. At Garden Hills she taught both Second and Third Grade. She strives to create an environment where all students can be successful. In the summers she works with Georgia State as a mentor for both pre-service and in-service teachers at their Discovery Learning Academy, a science camp funded by a STEM grant.

Mrs. Allen is an Atlanta native and lives in EAV with her husband and dog. In her free time she enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes. She loves to read and considers herself a lifelong learner.
