Chanel Free is a dynamic school counselor with over 18 years of experience. She has a Bachelors in Psychology and Human Services as well as a Masters in School Counseling from Seton Hall University. During her work in Brooklyn New York she developed a 16 week College and Career Curriculum that helped over 500+ students enroll in college or a workforce program. In 2019, she moved to Georgia and joined Atlanta Public Schools as a Substitute Counselor. In a short time she won the hearts of staff and students alike. Her passion for helping children succeed is one of the many reasons she was chosen to lead the 2020-2021 School Counseling Program at Benteen Elementary. As the mother of 3 young girls, Ms. Free believes that all children are born brilliant and when given the right opportunities, guidance, and support they can all shine bright.
