Courtney Conklin is an experienced and passionate educator who finds joy in witnessing the growth of her students throughout the school year. Originally from Arlington, VA, Courtney pursued her undergraduate studies at James Madison University, where she double majored in International Affairs and French. She continued her educational journey at George Mason University, earning a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in multilingual and multicultural education. Additionally, she holds a graduate certificate in Early Childhood Education from George Mason University.

Courtney's teaching career began in 2008 when she started as an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher in Kindergarten. Her experience in working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds helped shape her teaching philosophy and deepened her understanding of effective instructional strategies. In 2015, Courtney transitioned into a general education Kindergarten teacher role, where she continues to nurture young minds and create a supportive learning environment.

Being part of the formative years of Kindergarten is a source of great pride for Courtney. She finds it truly special to witness the growth and development of her students throughout the school year. She cherishes the opportunity to contribute to their foundational learning experiences and help shape their educational journey. Courtney is thrilled to be part of the SPARK community, where she is surrounded by warm and caring individuals who share her dedication to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Outside of the classroom, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family. They can often be found hiking in nature, enjoying a good book, challenging themselves with crossword puzzles, or playing at the park. Her adventurous spirit has also led her to explore different parts of the world, as she has traveled to 30 countries. These experiences have further broadened her perspective and enriched her understanding of diverse cultures and global perspectives.

Courtney's commitment to fostering growth, her warm and caring approach, and her dedication to providing an inclusive educational experience make her a valued member of the SPARK community. Her enthusiasm for teaching and her genuine love for Kindergarten create a positive and engaging classroom environment for her students to thrive in.
