Birthday and Classroom Parties
-
In addition to academics, the TH Slater team believes that school is a place where young people learn to socialize. We provide socialization opportunities during morning meeting, at lunch, during recess, and in classrooms during periods of discussion and debate.
Classroom parties that stop instruction are limited to specific times of the school year. These times include:
- Prior to winter break (The last week of December)
- Book character day (October 31st)
- Valentine's Day (Feburary 14th)
- Prior to the end of the school year (Typically the last week of the school year)
Birthday party celebrations may not take place during instructional time. Parents may, however, bring cake, ice cream, pizza, or other pre-prepared treats to share with classmates during lunch.
In order to arrange a birthday celebration during your student's lunch period, please contact your child's teacher or the main office at least 1 school day prior to the celebration.
We do not allow deliveries from services like Door Dash, Uber Eats, or Postmates for classroom parties.
