Printer not resolving by hostname to DNS

  • Network Printer not working
    #1 – After the printer is on the network
    • Be sure that the printer get’s a DHCP address
      • Be sure DHCP is active
      • Be sure DDNS is active
      • IP address should be a 10.x.180.x address
    • Be sure that the following are not active on the printer
      • Bootp
      • Mdns
      • Optional
        • IPv6
        • Bonjour
        • LLMR
    • NOTE: Features may be active in more than one place, and features can vary depending on the printer.
    • Be sure that DHCP and DDNS is turned on
    •  
    #2 - If the printer’s hostname is not resolving, call the NOC x1200 or call Nathaniel Dogan x2103 for help with troubleshooting. 
     
    #3 - Network operations will determine whether or not the printer will need to be reserved or if a static will need to be used.
