B3: Believe in Benteen’s Brilliance
Mr. Samuel Jones brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience relating to the International Baccalaureate, Primary Years Programme. The totality of his career in Early Childhood Education has been spent in authorized IB PYP elementary schools including instructional stints in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, as well as Atlanta Public Schools. Mr. Jones also attended both an International Baccalaureate middle as well as high school. His role includes supporting teachers, community members and students in fully engaging the full pedagogical scope of the Primary Years Programme while building global mindedness for all stakeholders.
Frederick Wilson Benteen Elementary School strives to incorporate the principles of the IB-Primary Years Programme through academic rigor, investment in the whole child, and the continuous strengthening of community engagement and relationships. Through the proper implementation of the inquiry-based model, students explore their world through the instruction of academic standards and real world provocations. Disciplines are integrated to ensure a sound pedagogical approach that addresses the needs and interests of a diverse learning community. Through the IB-Primary Years Programme, Benteen continues to evolve into an instructional model for Early Childhood Education in the primary years while developing current and future change agents for our world.
