What is APS Flex?
We’re glad you asked!
It’s our first-of-its-kind remote work model – giving supervisors of eligible employees the flexibility and privilege to decide on their place of work during designated APS Flex periods:
- October 15 - 18, 2024
- November 25, 2024
- January 2-3, 2025
- February 18 -21, 2025
- June 2- July 3, 2025 (One remote work day per week)
Our district will remain fully open to all stakeholders - with no gaps in service. So, nothing is changing in terms of the excellence and responsiveness in the way you work – but now you get to do the work you love from the comfort of a space you choose.
We’ll work together and keep connected through this pioneering initiative - enabled by our technology, supported by our leaders, and a credit to each of you. Think flexibility, better work-life balance, and no commute! These are just some of the perks APS Flex will bring to you!

Why a remote work model and why now?
It’s time to reimagine how and where we work – aligning to the shift in culture, the advantages for employees and organizations, and our vastly competitive environment. Simply put, remote work flexibilities are becoming increasingly commonplace, and if we don’t get onboard, we’ll be left behind.
Increased productivity, improved employee retention & morale, and greater competitiveness in the hiring marketplace are among the critical forces behind APS Flex – but we know it may mean something even more special to each of you.
-
Where are staff allowed to work during APS Flex?
You choose! Employees eligible to participate in APS Flex may elect to work from home or any appropriate environment, within the State of Georgia, with the tools, technology, and set-up conducive to carrying out their duties.
-
