GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) at Hope-Hill

The Georgia State Board of Education defines a gifted student as “…a student who demonstrates a high degree of intellectual, and/or creative ability(ies), exhibits an exceptionally high degree of motivation, and/or excels in specific academic fields, and who needs special instruction and/or special ancillary services to achieve at levels commensurate with his or her abilities.”
At Hope-Hill, gifted students are served using a Resource Model in 1st-5th grades.  Students attend the Resource class one day per week and participate in cross-curricular units of study, project-based learning, and creative and critical thinking skills instruction.
We also offer a robust Talent Development program.  High-achieving students may be invited to participate in the Gifted Resource class, and we have a variety of enrichment opportunities for all students, including clubs, competitions, and leadership roles.
