Psychological services at Booker T. Washington High School are designed to support all students in achieving academic, social, and emotional success. The school psychologist works to create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment by collaborating with educators, families, and community members. Services include conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to identify and address barriers to learning and development, such as learning disabilities, developmental delays, and emotional or behavioral challenges. These assessments utilize a variety of tools and techniques to gain a deep understanding of students’ cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. In addition to assessments, the school psychologist provides consultation to staff and families, individual and group counseling, and assistance in developing and implementing strategies to support students’ progress.
