Welcome to Benteen Elementary School Media Center! Ms. Brittany Alexander is our Media Specialist and Librarian for this school year. With a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Gordon State College and a Master’s in Library/Media Specialist and Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University, she is thrilled to be here with us.

Her primary goal is to foster a love of reading and ensure every student can access a wide range of books. Throughout the year, students will visit the Media Center for engaging lessons, exciting storytimes, and, of course, to check out their favorite books.

The school will participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program and Beanstack to further encourage reading. Students will have the opportunity to take short quizzes on the books they read and earn points. These points can be redeemed for fun prizes in the Media Center, including bookmarks, pencils, and paperback books.

Let’s make this a fantastic year filled with discovery and joy through reading.
