    Each year the Georgia's Conference on Children's Literature produces a list of nominees for the students of the state to select one book for the Georgia Children's Book Award. Some years ago, Mrs. Helen Ruffin - a DeKalb County Schools media specialist, created a quiz bowl based on the nominees to get the students at her school to read.  Her idea grew to the point where students all across the state of Georgia now participate in The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl.
