Senora Maria Pere-Morrero
Pérez-Marrero has worked as an educator for 24 years in her home country, Venezuela, in Primary Education. She also participated as a facilitator in teacher training nationwide in Intelligence Development Programs. She was the program's representative at the First Accelerated Learning Symposium, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1979. She also trained teachers in the methodology in Colombia and Cuba. She worked at the International Charter School of Atlanta, Roswell. Since 2016, she has been a teacher at Benteen Elementary School, where she shares her passion for teaching, knowledge, and her culture through the teaching of Spanish.
She graduated as a Primary Education teacher from the Gran Colombia Educational Unit and studied at the Pedagogical University Institute of Caracas, Caracas, Venezuela, with a bachelor's degree in Special Education, specializing in Learning Disabilities. She also studied at the Andrés Bello Catholic University, Caracas, Venezuela, specializing in Cognitive Psychology, with a Lumm Laude honors. She completed a Master's degree from the University of Salamanca in 2024 with an outstanding evaluation. She is certified as a PreK-5 teacher and a PreK-12 Spanish teacher by the Georgia Standards Commission.
Ms. Pérez-Marrero was born and raised in Venezuela. Her parents instilled in her a high value on her education. She has lived here for 18 years. She is creative and passionate about teaching Spanish as a second language, as well as being a promoter of Hispanic culture. She has two children who completed their professional training in the country where she welcomed us. She enjoys dancing, traveling, and baking.
