College and Career Readiness Signature Program
P21 Framework for 21st Century Learning
Utilizing the P21 Framework for 21st Century Learning, coupled with EdLeaders 21, as a model for the College and Career Readiness Signature Program was a natural fit for the existing programming in the George Washington Carver and Henry W. Grady clusters. Both clusters have demonstrated long term success with preparing students for accelerated learning opportunities via the Early College initiative in the Carver Cluster and the Advanced Placement curriculum in the Grady cluster. The implementation of the 5Cs has allowed these schools to better prepare students for the 21st Century by targeting interventions and supports for lower performing or “at risk” students. Implementation has also afforded schools opportunities to reduce the barriers of equity and access by providing additional resources with a focused attention on all students especially with regard to accelerated coursework and preparing for college entrance exams.
