Subject: School Building Access for APS Staff

     Dear Inman Community:

As you know, Atlanta Public Schools (APS) has been closed for teleschooling and teleworking since March 16, and access to Inman has been restricted since then. However, in anticipation of our school’s upcoming move to David T. Howard Middle School, some school staff will be allowed limited access to our campus to pack and retrieve school supplies and materials from classrooms and offices. It’s important for you to know that we developed a safety plan for staff access to Inman that follows a set schedule, is being implemented in an orderly fashion, and adheres to health and safety guidelines from public health officials. Staff will observe social distancing and will be required to wear masks and gloves during this process.

We are sharing this information with families because you may see increased activity at our school, including cars in the parking lot or people on school grounds over the next couple of weeks. This limited access is being granted to staff only. We are not granting student access to retrieve items from lockers or classrooms at this time. We will communicate a plan for retrieval of student items, in accordance with district guidelines, when it becomes safe and appropriate to do so. We appreciate your understanding that students and families will not be allowed in the school at all, until further notice.

Stay safe and well, and as always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Kevin S. Maxwell

    Principal

    Inman Middle School
