The David T. Howard Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is very proud of our accomplishments. Membership is open to anyone in our community that believes in supporting the mission of PTO. Together we are a powerful voice for our school community. Our goal is to bring together the interests of the parents and the school to support student achievement. Through PTO initiatives and activities, parents work with the faculty to enhance the school environment and improve student achievement.
Mission of the PTO:
support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children
assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children
encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation
Purposes of the PTO:
promote the welfare of Howard children and families at home, school and in the community
promote adequate care and protection of our students
promote close relations between the school, parents and teachers to strengthen the education of our students
promote efforts that will secure the highest advantages in physical, mental and social education for our students
What We Do:
support and organize schoolwide events
provide a forum to discuss issues of importance to parents and teachers
provide the volunteers and the organization needed to support school projects
conduct fundraising for school activities
assist with special school projects development, landscaping or community outreach
