Mr. Danon Ferguson is the Instructional Coach for our program.
Mr. Danon Ferguson is Phoenix Academy's Instructional Coach. He is a former math and science teacher who specializes in every area of high school math and physical science. He has been working in education for the past 20+ years, and hopes to work in education for the next twenty years. He thoroughly enjoys this work and the challenges that it provides. His entire career has been based on meeting the needs of urban youth - having worked in a variety of settings including public, charter, traditional, alternative, vocational, and correctional schools. In every setting, he learned something that allows him to support students and teachers more effectively. He is a strong believer in the notion that every student can learn, as long as the right support is in place. His goal is to help teachers nuture students to develop the critical thinking skills needed for success in our high-tech world.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, he received both his Bachelors of Education in Physics & Math from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Wayne State University. He moved to Atlanta in 2009, in hopes of finding a great place to raise a family, and hasn’t regretted it yet. He and his wife raise two boys who keep them busy. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with the family, listening to music, skating, reading, discussing politics, and tinkering with technology.
