I am Danon Ferguson, a math teacher who specializes in every area of high school math. I have been working in education for the past twenty years, and hope to work in education for the next twenty years. I thoroughly enjoy this work and the challenges that it provides. My whole career has been based on meeting the needs of urban youth. I have worked in a variety of setting, including public, charter, traditional, alternative, vocational, and correctional schools. In every setting, I have learned something that allows me to support my students more effectively. I am a strong believer in the notion that every student can learn, as long as the right support is in place. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you. My goal is to help students develop the critical thinking skills needed for success in our high tech world.
I am originally from Detroit, Michigan, where I received my both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. I moved to Atlanta in 2009, in hopes of finding a great place to raise a family, and haven’t regretted it yet. My wife and I are raising two boys (10 & 11), who are definitely keeping us busy. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with the family, listening to music, skating, reading, discussing politics, and tinkering with technology.
