I have worked for Atlanta Public Schools for the last four years as a paraprofessional. Prior to coming to Atlanta, I worked in a residential facility in the United States Virgin Islands for twenty four years, and a alternative school in Virginia for two years. I have worked with students in elementary, middle school, and high school. I have also worked with special education students. Everyone has a belief system which derives from their upbringing, families, culture, and personal experiences. I believe that everyone should be treated fairly, respectfully, and with kindness. My belief system drives me to do my very best with every student I work with.
I am also a mother of three, and grandmother. As a parent, I fully understand the expectations that are set when students enter our classrooms. That is why setting goals, time frames, and reviewing progress, is a daily process with students that are assigned to my classroom. I firmly believe that consistency in these three areas result in success! Working at Phoenix Academy is truly inspiring!
