Letters of Recommendation
Many colleges ask for one or more letters of recommendation. These will be from a teacher, or teachers, of core subjects (ELA, math, science, social studies, or foreign language). Ask two teachers, preferably from junior year, as these are the teachers who have had you most recently. You will also probably need a recommendation from your counselor (Dr. Blankenship, Mr. Young, or Ms. Falcone). Don't worry if you don't know your counselor well (or at all). Colleges know that counselors have heavy case loads, but they will be able to say something about you within the context of the school. Make sure you ask EARLY and follow up if the deadline is approaching. See the attached guidelines.
