Certified Substitute Teacher 

• $220.00 per day/$29.33 per hour
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
• Valid, professional Georgia teaching certificate
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to comprehend and follow directives

Non-Certified Substitute Teacher Requirements

• $185.00 per day/$24.66 per hour
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or above from a regionally accredited college or university or a PSC approved institution. Verifiable by transcript or diploma.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to comprehend and follow directives
• Training requirement
  • Satisfy one of the following:
    • Online Substitute Training Course ($39.95 fee) with a composite passing score of at least 80% OR provide proof of a valid or expired:
      • professional teaching certificate issued by a state credentialing agency OR
      • paraprofessional teaching certificate issued by a state credentialing agency OR
      • professional service certificate issued by a state credentialing agency OR
      • professional leadership certificate issued by a state credentialing agency

Substitute Paraprofessional 

• $130.00 per day/$17.33 per hour
• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Training requirement
  • Satisfy one of the following:
    • Online Substitute Training Course ($39.95 fee) with a composite passing score of at least 80% OR  provide proof of a valid or expired
      • professional teaching certificate issued by a state credentialing agency OR
      • paraprofessional teaching certificate issued by a state credentialing agency OR
      • professional service certificate issued by a state credentialing agency OR
      • professional leadership certificate issued by a state credentialing agency
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to comprehend and follow directives

Long Term Requirements

An assignment is considered “Long Term” when a substitute works in the same assignment for 20 consecutive days.

Long Term Pay Rate: $234.98 per day / $31.33 per hour

Criteria:

• Work 20 consecutive days in the same assignment.
• Possess a valid Georgia Teaching certificate.
• Certification must match the assignment requirements.

Note: Only teaching assignments are eligible for the long term pay rate.

Substitute Assistant Principal 

For extended leave replacement and vacant positions only. Requires PRIOR HR authorization.

Rate of pay: $290.00 per day/ $38.66 per hour

Minimum Eligibility Requirement: 

• VALID GA Leadership Certification- Tier II
• 3 years of Full-Time experience as an Assistant Principal
• Selection is subject to approval by the Executive Director of Talent Management

Substitute Principal Requirements

For extended leave replacement and vacant positions only. Requires PRIOR HR authorization.

Rate of pay: $400.00 per day/ $53.33 per hour

Minimum Education Requirement: 

• VALID GA Leadership Certification
• 5 years of Full-Time experience as a Principal
• Selection is subject to approval by the Executive Director of Talent Management
