Desiree Brooks is excited to join the GATE team at Mary Lin Elementary this year! With 25 years of teaching experience, she brings a deep passion for teaching and creating meaningful, engaging opportunities that both challenge and inspire.

Desiree is an enthusiastic educator who believes learning should be rigorous, fun, and rooted in curiosity. She loves integrating STEAM into her lessons to foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. She encourages students to explore big ideas, collaborate with peers, and develop the confidence to take risks in their learning.

Throughout her career, Desiree has taught first, third, fourth, and fifth grades. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Leo University in Tampa, Florida, and her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University.

Outside the classroom, you’ll likely find her outdoors, exploring national parks, or enjoying a good comedy show with her husband. Desiree is thrilled to be part of the Mary Lin Rocket family and looks forward to an exciting year of discovery and growth with her students!
