• Please see below for our arrival and dismissal "map" - showing where students can cross, parents can park, "no parking" zones, the flow of traffic, as well as park & walk locations.

    Car Riders

Drop off is in front of the school on Candler Park Drive. To get there, you must turn right on Candler Park Dr. from North Ave. Those in Lake Claire will need to turn down Oakdale to reach North Ave. Do Not Make a U-turn on Candler Park Drive, as it is dangerous and there will be many cars and pedestrians (see blue path on map above). Children must get out on the right-hand side of the vehicle when exiting in the carpool lane.

    Park & Walk

Please make sure you park at the upper-end of Candler Park Drive, towards McClendon, to stay clear of carpool traffic. If you park on the golf course side of the street, to ensure your safety and the safety of our Rockets, please make sure to use the crosswalk when crossing the street. Please do not drop students off in the staff parking lot.

    Walkers & Bikers

Before entering the front of the school, please say your good-byes on the sidewalk or before the edge of the sunshade.  The platform directly in front of the school should remain clear and congestion-free. Students who enter the back of school must come up the PATH. DO NOT attempt to enter via the bus ramp because this ramp has no sidewalks and is not a safe walking path. Please make sure all bikers are abiding general traffic laws, so all walkers, car riders, bikers, and carpool students arrive safely. 🚲🚲🚲

    Bus Riders

Bus riders will enter and exit from the bus lane entrance at the back of the building.

    Van Riders (afternoon/dismissal only)

Students who are picked up by an off-site aftercare provider (i.e., JKG or Contact Point) will be picked up at the bus lane after the buses have been dismissed. Students will wait for their van in the auditorium.

    Early Dismissal & Dismissal Changes

If you are picking your student up early, please be mindful of our "early dismissal cut-off time" of 1:30 pm. To check your student out early, visit Ms. Mason in the front office.

How do you know how my child gets home every day? At Sneak Peek, homeroom teachers will collect a plan for their students' daily dismissal methods (i.e., Monday - car rider, Tuesday - bus, Wednesday - bus, Thursday - bus, Friday - car rider). Each child's daily dismissal methods will be stored on a shared google doc that classroom parents and Mary Lin staff can access, in order to ensure that we have an accurate picture of dismissal methods each day.

What if I need to change my child's dismissal method? Instead of emailing or calling mid-day, parents only need to make dismissal method updates directly on the shared google doc that your homeroom teacher will share with you. This is a *LIVE* document and changes will be reflected immediately. All dismissal changes need to be made on your class google document by 1:30. Teachers will display this document each day before dismissal so students have a real-time update of how they are getting home that day.

    Independent Walkers

Students in grades 3-5 may walk home independently. With parent permission, students in grades PK-2 may walk home accompanied by their older sibling. If you would like your younger child to walk home with an older sibling, please email both teachers to make sure they are aware. When 3rd-5th grade walkers come outside to the front of the school in the afternoon, the younger sibling's teacher will dismiss the younger child to their older sibling to walk home.
