A Note from our Principal
Greetings E. Rivers Community,
Welcome to the 2021 – 2022 school year at E. Rivers Elementary School. The first order of business is to offer congratulations to your former Principal, Dr. John Waller on his promotion to Atlanta Public Schools’ Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. It is my pleasure to begin the school year as your Interim Principal, where together, we will continue the mission of E. Rivers Elementary School. I look forward to working with faculty, staff and stakeholders as we welcome our students back for face-to-face learning experiences.
Instructionally, we will continue the mission of E. Rivers Elementary School to develop confident, active learners, while inspiring and challenging them to be respectful and compassionate citizens of the world. We will intentionally provide an engaging, relevant, rigorous, and inquiry-based education. We embrace the APS 5 Strategic Plan for Building a Culture of Support that focuses on data, curriculum and instruction, whole child intervention, personalized learning and signature programming.
Finally, I am beginning this school year with you as an instructional leader with more than twenty years of leadership experience. I have served as a principal, principal mentor, assistant principal, and a member of several APS Superintendent’s Advisory Boards and interview teams. I currently serve the Atlanta Public School System as an Interim Administrator providing support to schools throughout the district. I look forward to working with you as we continue to pursue the vision of high performing schools where students love to learn, educators inspire, families are engaged and community trust is built.
